Katie Rowe's Portfolio

Like many other students, I was undecided on what degree to follow. My passions fell into both business and communication. My future goal was to become a business professional, which requires knowledge in many different areas. Having a degree that focused on different mind-sets was important to me.

The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies Program from Arizona State University is designed for students who want to create their own college experience and enjoy the freedom of different areas of study. A student in the program picks two, three, or more concentration areas to make their degree. The benefit from this degree is how the student must integrate their concentration areas so as to develop their success after graduation.

Why I Chose BIS

Because of the freedom in the Interdisciplinary Program, this degree was the perfect choice for me. Having a choice in what classes to take was the deciding factor in my degree program. This program combined my two favorite areas of study and prepared me for future success in the professional world. The most rewarding aspect of my degree is the in-depth knowledge I received in integrating my concentration areas and using them to develop myself as a business professional.
